Name it to Claim $250 ContestAfter many rounds of voting, we are thrilled to announce the winner of our "Name it to Claim $250" contest! Ensuring the confidentiality of the process, only one employee, Mekayla Nichols, had access to the answer key and was not involved in the voting. Starting with 245 submissions, we carefully narrowed it down to 185 non-repeating names, giving everyone who submitted a repeat the option to submit another new name. From there, we selected the top five finalists, which included:
- A New Leaf - Recovery House for Men, submitted by Kayla Phillips - Caladrius Cottage, submitted by Dean Fisher - The Vision on Votaw, submitted by Shalee Myron - The Return Home, submitted by Christy Nel - 422 Recovery House, submitted by Emily Kring With the top five names chosen, we turned to the community for their votes. The community showed tremendous support, casting a total of 323 votes. After tallying the votes, Shalee Myron submitted The Vision on Votaw, the winning name for our Recovery House! Upon hearing the news, Shalee expressed her excitement, stating, "What an honor to get to name something so impactful for our community!" We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the contest, from the initial submissions to the final votes. Our community's enthusiastic involvement has truly made this a memorable event. Michael Keller, a member of the Opioid Settlement Committee, donated for the contest: "In 2022 I had a dangerous tractor accident. On behalf of Terry and Lois Keller, Lutheran Hospital, Jay County Sheriff's Department & EMS, Portland Police & Fire Department, and Barnett's Wrecker Service. I would like to pay forward their rescue efforts by responding to another community need through this donation." - Michael Keller |
