Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) provides those in formal helping roles with professional development to ensure they are prepared to intervene with suicide first aid help as part of the care they provide.
How Does it Work?
ASIST is a two-day, face-to-face workshop with audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. Through ASIST, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two JCDPC staff members, or other community member(s), who have become certified trainers in this program, will guide you through the course.
Why ASIST?
To find out when JCDPC is hosting the next ASIST workshop, contact Ally Raines or Jake Martz, or keep an eye out on our Facebook Page!
